Youre right Subzero, they could have made it more powerful. However I think Nintendo wanted to capture a different market to the PS3/360. Nintendo, from way back when they started out making card games, have always emphasised the fun element rather than be technically the best.
Think back to the SNES v Megadrive. The Megadrive was way more advanced but which had the biggest following and best games. Same with PSP and Gameboy DS. The PSP should wipe the floor with it (Ive got one, that screen is amazing!) but the DS outsells it in every territory, even Japan!

I apologise because I sound like a geek - er (Get off that soap box glyn!)

Getting back to the point, the wii is not a "serious" console like the others. Its more pick up, have a laugh, pretend your 5 years old for a while, then put it down again. The PS3/360 are more hardcore.
