When I think of Arcade games, I think of older games, as you said, like Pacman, Space Invaders, etc. But I do also think of games that I played when I was younger such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Simpsons, and games like that as well.
Newer games will be easier to find for graphics, such as Tekken titles, House of the Dead, various racing games, and stuff like that, but I think that older games are easier to base the skin on as they are very well known, and I feel that arcades back then were more popular than they are now because of the rise in console use.
A mix of old and new could be good, but because of the complete differences in pictures/texts/graphics, it may not be as smooth as one might want.
I think it's a great idea BC, and if you can do it, that would be really cool... I am sure it takes tons of time, so thank you.
And black, blue and silver seems like it would work very well here. I stick with the green and black skin, but I think yours sounds even easier on the eyes.
