The German GP took place today at Hockenheim. Lewis Hamilton started on pole, with Massa alongside him on the front row. Lewis built up a considerable lead only for a massive crash by Timo Glock to bring out the safety car, this obviously closed the field up again, most drivers took this opportunity to pit, change tyres and fuel to the end, McLaren choose not to bring Hamilton in. After the restart Lewis built up a lead of 15 seconds, this however was not enough of a lead to let him make him his final pit stop and come out still in the lead. He exited the pits 4th, behind his teammate Kovalainen, with Massa 2nd and Piquet 1st. After some very skillful driving Hamilton worked his way back to the front of the pack and a few laps later took the chequered flag to go clear at the top of the drivers championship.
