Airliner bomb plot: 11 charged
Quote:
Police have charged 11 of the 23 suspects arrested over the alleged airliner bomb plot, the Crown Prosecution Service has announced.
A further 11 others remain in custody and one woman has been released without charge.
Ahmed Abdullah Ali, Tanvir Hussain, Umar Islam, Arafat Waheed Khan, Assad Ali Sarwar, Adam Khatib, Ibrahim Savant and Waheed Zaman are all charged with conspiracy to murder and with terrorism offences.
The other three have been charged with other offences under the Terrorism Act 2000.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Peter Clarke revealed that bomb making equipment, including chemicals and electrical components had been found during police searches.
He added that a number of video recordings known as "martyrdom videos" have also been recovered.
He said: "There have been 69 searches. These have been in houses, flats and business premises, vehicles and open spaces."
Searches had also found more than 400 computers, 200 mobile telephones and 8,000 computer media items such as memory sticks, CDs and DVDs, he said.
Mr Clarke added: "The investigation is far from complete. The scale is immense. Inquiries will span the globe.

I hope they find them all guilty, sentence them to be hanged, then declare a Public Holiday, so that we can all go and watch them get necked
