Penn under fire for sparking up

Quote:
Outspoken actor Sean Penn is often in the news for his strong political, anti-Bush opinions, but this time he's come under fire for something a little less radical.

The A-lister has got in trouble for smoking in a hotel ballroom at the Toronto International Film Festival - and public health officials are considering booking him for it, as lighting up in an enclosed place is now illegal in the state.

Penn appeared in classic Hollywood rebel mode with a cigarette hanging from the corner of his mouth as he answered questions from journalists at a press conference for his latest movie All The Kings Men (also starring Jude Law and Kate Winslet).

A hotel spokesman said there were signs on the premises alerting guests to the law and those who broke the rules could be fined C$105 (£50). An official investigation is now underway.

"No one is above the law," the province's health promotion minister Jim Watson said yesterday.

And especially not jumped-up Hollywood actors.
Wow .. A ' C$105 (£50) ' fine. that will really scare him off .. I bet he spends more than that buying his breakfast
