totally agree! if it was not for him people like pulp, white stripes, blur even the sugar babes, were all championed by him! the man was a complete legend! and is still sorely missed by me! his show late at night was simple yet compulsive listening! he always played a 78rpm record! that was john all over, plyed great new stuff abstract new and old generally what he wanted to play, no play lists, and he did all this from "Pell Towers" (his home)
you dont get to be radio 1's longest serving dj if you are crap!
hope you are having as much fun up there john as you gave me!
