Survivor Of 16-Story Fall At Hotel Goes Home
AP) MINNEAPOLIS A Wisconsin man is out of the hospital just a week after surviving a 16-story fall from a downtown Minneapolis hotel.
Bar owner Joshua Hanson, 29, of Blair, Wis., was discharged Saturday from Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, a hospital official said.
Hanson was walking with the help of a wheeled walker, friends said.
"I just think he wants to get back here and relax," said Andy Anderson, one of Hanson's two roommates in Blair. "He's gotten a lot of attention this past week, and I think he wants to see his daughter."
Hanson was horsing around with friends when he apparently stumbled and crashed through a 17th-floor window at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on Jan. 20. He reached an estimated 69 miles per hour before landing on an overhang.
Friends said Hanson broke his right leg and his lungs collapsed, but he was otherwise OK.
Hanson has not spoken publicly about his fall.
"He gets pretty emotional when he talks about it, I guess," Anderson said. "I didn't ask him. ... He's OK, and that's what's important."
