3 has unveiled it’s X-Series phones – a range capable of hopping online to do everything a desktop PC can, and it’s not charging extra for bandwidth!

Designed to get you online wherever you are, 3’s tempting offer bundles Slingbox software, eBay access, Google search, MSN messenger, Skype VoIP and even access to your home PC through Orb.

It’s essentially a software package, available on Nokia’s N73 and Sony Ericsson’s W950i, but more exciting is that 3 won’t be charging a fortune for web access.

The network reckons it’ll charge a flat-rate fee that’s on a par with landline broadband, although it’s hazy on exactly how much it’ll be when it launches on 1 December.

It’s a step closer to proper broadband in your pocket though, and for that alone we’ve added an X-Series handset to our Christmas list.

I wonder if you can actually make phone calls with it . The technology available on Mobile Phones, nowadays, is unbelieveable, it just makes you wonder what they will do next

i struggle to use a desk top so there is not much chance of me being any good with one smaller! but hey technology is getting that good at the min that things like this will soon be out dated by something like the comms out of star trek!
