Harry's unit looks set to be deployed to Iraq in April

He's always wanted to be treated as an ordinary soldier, and now it looks like Prince Harry may get his wish, as Army commanders prepare to send the Prince's regiment to Iraq. If Harry joins his fellow soldiers on the tour of duty it will be the first time a member of the Royal Family has taken part in military operations since Prince Andrew flew helicopters in the Falklands conflict 25 years ago.

This i think is good,the Princes wanted to be treated normally and they are,and am very sure there mum would have been proud of them both

it is only right that Harry goes to the frontline. He has wanted to show that he is not just a penpusher but part of the british army. Another bonus is the rest of the armed forces will have so much respect for a prince of the realm who is willing to lead his country into battle.

However one point to be made, dont forget about the many "ordinary" soldiers who are risking their lives everyday.

I think he will go up a lot in peoples estimations for they way he has insisted he is treated as a soldier rather than a royal, as Tankgirl says Diana would be proud of both him and William

I just read about this today actually in the papers. Well I defiantly pray for his safety and this shows the symbolism for his role very well.
