Irwin fans 'in revenge attacks'

Dead stingrays with their tails cut off have been found in Australia, sparking concern that fans of naturalist Steve Irwin may be avenging his death.
Mr Irwin, a TV personality known as the "Crocodile Hunter", was killed while diving in Queensland when a stingray's barb stabbed him in the chest.

Since then, 10 stingrays have been found mutilated on Queensland beaches.

Government officials said they were investigating the deaths and there could be prosecutions.

While it is a tragedy what happened this is just sheer stupidity, what next, cut wheels off cars when someone is knockeddown and killed Steve Irwin was a guy that loved animals, do his fans really think he would have approved of this??

Agree, HB, it is a stupid way to act, and I don't know what good they think they will do by it .. other than probably get arrested.

Also agree HB... he would not approve of this. He did that work because he loved them, and knew it was a risk.

I agree HB, in my opinion, he was in the fish's territory, he knew the risks loved all nature and died doing what he loved! where would the fans draw the line, what would they have done if he died in a plane crash? cut the wings off all planes!!! stop it he would not have wanted you to do it!!!!

I gotta say what the hell are they thinking as Haggis says would Steve want this i think not. There are some really stupid people out there it was an accident i dont think the stingray went out its way to kill a guy who really loved animals
