Pub chain limits parents' drinks

Quote:
Adults with children are allowed only two alcoholic drinks at JD Wetherspoon pubs in order to limit their stay, the chain has confirmed to the BBC.
A spokesman for the company said it was "uncomfortable" with children being on the premises for long periods because of a lack of play facilities.

And he said parents visiting its pubs could even be refused soft drinks or coffee to curtail their stay.

There are 683 Wetherspoon pubs throughout the UK

When I seen the headline I thought theywere maybe limiting drinks to parents because they had the interests of the children in mind but then I read the article! I think I may avoid drinking in any Wetherspoons from now on!! I hope all parents do the same

well i kinda agree with JD Wheterspoons, since they dont have anything to interest the children, like a play area & with other drinks, they might get annoyed by the kids messing around & running off, so i'm split on it

No, if you have kids, just stay out of the pubs.

I agree in some respects there are other places you can go to eat as a family eg Brewsters and Hungry horse chain who do provide play areas for kids. The only thing i dont really agree on telling us how much we can have to drink, this still is a free country

The fact that they are telling you how much you can drink, in retrospect, they are trying to help you not get in a car drunk with your children.

When my boys got to a certain age I stop drinking all together---how could I tell them it was bad for them when I was going out getting hammered.

Definitely not for kids at all, no exceptions...this is really self explanatory: why would a parent want his or her kid in a pub?
