Shopping voucher plan for addicts

Drug addicts receiving treatment should be given shopping vouchers to encourage them to kick their habit, an NHS body has suggested.
The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence accepts the idea for England and Wales is controversial.

But evidence from international trials shows modest financial incentives can cut drug abuse by hardened addicts.

Users could get vouchers worth up to £10 at NHS treatment programmes - if tests show they are free of drugs.

agree pal, why should the over stretched NHS fund junkies! when IMO the monies could be better spent on actual health care like you say HB nobody forces them to start taking drugs.

I do agree you give them something like vouchers and i know they will just sell them on to make money for their drug habbit,i have seen this happen and know what they are like,its nearly as stupid as the idea of giving them free drugs to help prevent crime ,how bloody stupid is that
