What is daily life like for ordinary people who suffer from a condition that makes them 'tic' uncontrollably, and who break society's taboos by shouting out often-obscene words and phrases at the most inappropriate moments, as they go about their everyday lives?


To find out, Keith Allen teams up with a party of teenagers from the Tourette Scotland support group, and travels with them to France on a red Routemaster bus. Led by John Davidson, the group's ultimate goal is a visit to the Sal Petrier hospital in Paris, to see for themselves the place where their condition was first diagnosed, back in the late 19th century.

As well as debunking the myriad preconceptions about the syndrome, Keith Allen's Tourettes de France looks at the humorous side of society's reaction to Tourettes. By turns funny and touching, it gives the viewer a rare insight into a group of normal, likeable, and occasionally mischievous teenagers who are managing to live fulfilling and rewarding lives, despite the bizarre hand that fate has dealt them.

This is a show that will be on Channel 4, cant wait to see it. this show contains over 360 swear words and channel 4 are expecting a lot of complaints, but to their credit they wont "beep" any out as they say it is part of the condition, well done to them.
Should be an informative show!

Yeah no doubt the do-gooders will complain but it wont just be cursing for the sake of it, it is an unfortunate part of this illness. I look forward to watching it, hopefully I will learn more about the disease, to most people tourettes is just swearing but I know there is much more to it

yes, i kno a few ppl in my skool with tourettes, but 1 of them dont swears, she flicks her arm up & bangs her head on the table, typical Manchester United fan
