UK soldier killed in Afghanistan

A British soldier has been killed after being caught in an explosion in southern Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence has said.
The soldier, from the 2nd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment, died on Sunday. Next of kin have been informed.

One other soldier was also hurt in the incident which took place during a foot patrol in Helmand Province, but his injuries are not life threatening.
