UK soldier killed on Basra patrol

A British soldier has been killed while on a routine patrol in Basra in southern Iraq, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed.
He was killed after dismounting from his vehicle in the Al Ashar district.

The soldier from the 2nd Battalion The Rifles has not been named but his family has been informed.

He is the twelfth British soldier to die in Iraq this month - the highest monthly casualty figure since the invasion four years ago.

This war is another vietnam were losing troops at growing numbers without any great success. Sure there is a democracy but I think we helped build a foundation it should be up to them if they want to maintain it not ours. You can't force people to think freedom is best for them if they are too shut up and ignorant about it thats there fault. May be a bit harsh but I am tired of watching bad news over and over in Iraq.
