Website identifies wanted paedophiles

Convicted paedophiles who have disappeared off the radar since release from prison are being publicly identified on a new website.

Police hope the new internet site will help in tracking them down amid fears they could reoffend.

The child sex offenders pictured are some of those who have failed to tell the authorities of their whereabouts on release from prison.

The Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre stressed the move was not about "naming and shaming" offenders whose whereabouts are already known, but finding those who have gone missing and cannot be traced by the police.

Jim Gamble, chief executive of the CEOP Centre, said: "The success of the Crimestoppers' website in gaining the support of the public to help track the UK's most wanted criminals is unprecedented here in the UK.

"Now we need to move a lot of that success towards protecting children and safeguarding communities from harm."

He added: "While it isn't new for the UK police to publish details of offenders on their own sites, this is the first time that a nationwide - and indeed global - approach has been adopted."

A good idea, imo ... we should have a National Website, identifying all Paedophiles and Perverts Details and Locations, like they have in the USA.

A good idea, so people know who they are and accidently doesn't meet them.

Giving out private adresses is against the law, isn't it? And would only make harassments and possible murders.

Well no need to give an actual address mate, just the area that they are in, especially if there are schools, Youth Clubs, etc, around it.
