Euthanasia

With IMO common sense actually prevailing and a husband in England not being sent to prison for assisting his wife in taking her own life, I thought I would find out everyone elses opinion on the subject of euthanasia, assisted or not.

I tend to agree with it, if the case involved merits it, and the peron / persons have a Terminal Illness and have absolutely no chance of living a decent life, due to their illness.

I just feel like it's wrong, it's still killing someone.

I'm not one to judge anyone or anything an individual does; so my voting no is from a personal point of view where I wouldn't do it because I consider it a wrong thing for me to do. Helping someone committ suicide is just as bad as committing suicide so wrong is wrong in whatever capacity. Watching someone you love suffer is hard (I have not personally experience that hardship myself, but one can only imagine), however life is life and suffering is apart of it.

Until you have seen a close one suffer terrible you cannot judge against it. I am all for it in the right circumstances. I agree with Rocol.

My opinion is that no one has the right to take their own life or assist someone to take theirs. Like someone metioned priviously, suffering is a part of living and it does not justify taking life. That's just my opinion. I feel like it's wrong.

if i am ever involved in a horrific crash and am getting kept alive by machines then my family know to turn them off, I am an active person and that thought of not being able to do anything myself depresses me!

but that is my opinion, I am in favour as long as the person who will be " turned off" has made the descion informed and not just said down the pub!

Trust me when I say this. I've witnessed 3 uncles, a cousin, an aunt and 1 or 2 friends suffer from various terminal illnesses. My mother suffers with diabetes everyday so to me it's something you deal with rather than something you rectify.
