Should they stay or withdraw?

With the number of allied troops being killed in Afghanistan and Iraq rising all the time I just wondered whether people think we should still be there or as I do think we should withdraw and let them sort out their own mess?

All right here's my feelings... maybe not that popular but I don't go for popularity.

First off, I wish we never went into there, but we did, and there's nothing we can do about that. I'll admit that I wanted to take that regime down too, and was for it at first, but I regret that feeling.

But now, after all of this, should we take the troops out? This is where I am completely unsure of my thoughts on this. I do not want to lose any more of our countrymen or yours, and I feel like this cannot be fully won, as we are fighting guerillas and really don't know our enemies completely. It's so dangerous because we are fighting ordinary citizens... it's not like we are just fighting another country's armed forces.

But I also think that if we leave, all of these lost lives were for nothing, because it's almost guaranteed that the guerillas will revolt and take over the newly formed government. Thousands of lives lost for nothing, do we really want that on our hands? What is going to happen, in my opinion, is that we will still be there in a couple of years, withdrawing troops every year until they are fully functional on their own.

This is a hard thing for me to have a set opinion on because of all these factors.

To be honest, I don't know why they are over there. iraq is a seperate country, they should be able to do what they want. The Americans want to give them thier freedoms, by controling thier movements.
