Should trick or treating be banned?

The kids came home from school today and told me that they had a debate,it was to find out if people wanted trick or treating to be banned? there have been reports of kids getting attacked or egged for all there goodies,so what do you all think?

Voted yes, it is becoming far to commercialised now, and kids just use it as an excuse to get up to mischief, and as you say, the smaller kids can end up getting attacked for their sweets / money that they may have gained.

That and Carol Singers are my pet hates.

i dont think it should be banned just not so commercialised! the kids enjoy it but i do think if you have smaller kids they should be supervised therefore they wont get attacked by other kids etc.

I voted no that it shouldn't. Around here anyway no one hardly decorates or gets into the spirit of things & enjoy it. I mean whats the harm in giving out a few pieces of candy to little kids?? Guess it has it's pros and cons though. Anyways, I enjoy it.

Voted yes, as Rocol says its just too commercialised now, and with all the egging etc on small kids and in some cases houses I think it is now time to call it a day

well apart from this country being one of the most obese in Europe and that its so commercialised i think its a great time! but paying the kids in sweets not so sure!
but it nice to see all the kids doing something instead of playing on the computers!

Voted no. I had a blast during Halloween when I was younger, and I think younger kids should still do it. I do not think that older people should go trick or treating though... in high school there were 18 year olds that did it and I thought they looked foolish.
