I formatted my mates PC the other week...Put him my "Special XP" os in..
But then he was moaning it was running slower than usual..
It is a 32 bit machine with a AMD 3+ gig chip...
After the format it only showed that it had a smaller chip in...
I told him not to worry and it was just one of the bios settings,it needed to be on 166 and it had probebly reverted to 133 after the format.
Last night i went round to change the bios settings for him and sure enough it was on 133 so indeed i did change it to 166..
Up pops Windows and i checked the system...There we were,it was showing a 3+ gig machine running at 2.16....
He wasnt so happy and wanted more....
So back into the bios settings i go....I did notice there was a 200 setting after the 166...
So i changed it......
Oh dear windows didnt pop up...
I switched off...Reset CMOS...Switched on....Oh dear....Oh dear indeed...
I ended up with my mate Ady coming round his house with a spare machine which just happend to be the exact same spec..
We swapped chipps....UH UH...
We swapped RAM...UH Uh...
We frigging swapped every thing and the frigging machine just stayed dead...
OH frig....I killed it.....
My mate Ady said he would take his PC away and mend it...
I feel so guilty...
But...
Before i pressed the SAVE button in the BISo screen after changing it to 200 i said to my mate if this goes tits up you cant blame me..
He said,ok just do it...
I did it.....Oh i did it allright....
tn...The PC killer.....
