Little Britain gets big movie deal
Quote:
Little Britain is coming to big screens near you soon.
Creators and stars David Walliams and Matt Lucas have revealed plans for a film version of their hit BBC show.
"We've had some sort of interest from America," Walliams told chat show host Michael Parkinson.
"We've got a sort of film development deal out there and also we might do something for TV out there," he added.
The comedy duo have signed a deal with Pop Idol producer Simon Fuller to develop a US version of Little Britain for the American cable network HBO.
The pair are also developing a spin-off series for the BBC based around their popular characters Lou and Andy.
In the interview, to be broadcast on Saturday, Lucas also spoke about his forthcoming civil partnership ceremony with TV producer Kevin McGee, saying: "We're going to have a civil partnership, or marriage, or whatever you like to call it.
"We are very much in love, but also it's important that gay couples have the same rights as straight couples."
