New Star Wars titles glimpsed
Quote:
A new publishing deal between Star Wars license controller LucasArts, and French publishing giant Ubisoft, will see its first fruit at the end of the year, when a new Star Wars adventure game is launched, Star Wars: Lethal Alliance.
A worldwide launch on December 6th is apparently the plan for this new DS and PSP title, and Ubi's executives must be rubbing their paws at the prospect.
Ubisoft's award-winning Montreal studio (responsible for Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia, among other titles) will take charge of the PSP version of Lethal Alliance, while Ubisoft Casablanca are charged with the DS incarnation.
The events of the new game will take place between Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV A New Hope.
Twi'lek Rianna Saren of the Rebel Alliance will be infiltrating deep into the bowels of the Empire, to discover the truth behind the Death Star.
Characters from the films will feature - such as Darth Vader - whilst we're also expecting to meet new characters unique to the game.
"Ubisoft is honored to announce this exciting and innovative Star Wars game, the first original game in the legendary franchise built to take full advantage of the unique capabilities of both the PSP system and the DS," beamed Ubi creative officer Serge Hascoet.
"We have worked closely with LucasArts to create a game that further develops the Star Wars universe, and unveils some of the mysteries that have kept millions of fans enthralled for decades.
