360 Not Loading and making strange noise

cant just be my tele because the xbox is making this noise. anyone else had this problem, its a brand new arcade console i bought it last week because my previous console had the red ring of death.

it was fine last night as i was watching a monty python dvd on it. just went to play halo 3 when i got home from work and its not working!

its like something isnt connected properly. when i did eventually get it to load some of the game it made this whirling noise and the screen kept going blank every 10 secs or so. like it has a dodgy connection. ive checked everythings pushed in properly but its still not working

any ideas?

heres the noise its making

the video's wont load for me

but from reading it, i can only think of hardware problem/failure, but since i dont wona 360 i cant really say

if you've STILL got warranty on it, see if you can do something under the warranty

but like i said, i dont own or even know much about a 360, so i cant help you as much

have you tried asking on other gaming forums, like Monsteramer, MegaGames etc etc - the more you ask, the better chance you have of getting a answer IMO TBH

As far as I can see, if it is still under warranty I would take it back and demand another one---do not get this one fixed if you have only had it a week.

all i can think of, that the connection-ports on the TV are 90% used, like when you had other consoles on it

xbox 360's imho are not good systems. my friend had his for a couple months and his hard drive crashed and was on the phone with tech support for hours. From what I can remember I think he was having the same problem so you can try taking out the hard drive and restarting the system.
he eventually got the system working without having to buy a new hard drive by just taking it out but after doing that he couldn't save any of his games. Get a ps3, that's what my friend eventually ended up doing and just sold his 360. The ps3 is an all around better system, and once technology catches up it will dominate the new system market. besides blu-ray already beat out hd dvd in the competition for the next new media format.

The 360s are cheaply made, but the software completely blows Sony's PS3 out of the water. I would never trade my 360 for a PS3 after playing some of the Xbox exclusives. If it continues to not work properly, return it to the store. My first 360 had a crappy ethernet port, and I took it back and they gave me a new one.

Weird that it only did that with that one TV though...

I can understand where you are coming from about the exclusive xbox 360 games, and I can see from your sig and avatar that you must be a die hard halo fan hence the love for xbox 360. I just believe that the technology put into the ps3 allows it in the future, once all the game designers catch up, to dominate the market. All the games out right now for ps3 are barely tapping into the full potential of the system. I have always been a PS fan so I guess I am partial, but I love halo don't get me wrong. I just believe the system is not worth getting seeing how alot of the other great games are made for both consoles.
