A third-person tactical shooter from Epic, running on the Unreal Engine 3. Gears of War thrusts gamers into a deep and harrowing story of humankind’s epic battle for survival against the Locust Horde, a nightmarish race of creatures that surface from the bowels of the planet. Unlike other shooters, Gears of War is all about teamwork in a big way. All game modes, levels and scenarios are designed specifically to encourage co-operative play, whether it be with A.I. partners or human players (with A.I. teammates designed with specific strengths, weaknesses and personalities.) On top of that, voice recognition will be available for players, and obviously voice chat to discuss strategy with your friends. In addition to voice chat, gamers will be able to experience individualized matchmaking, view player statistics, earn player achievements, customize their games, and build and personalize their gamer profiles over Xbox Live. Screens here The graphics look amazing a must for the 360 folks ;)

That game looked great, and it had a nice trailer as an advertisement for it on TV. My friend actually got this, so if I see him, I will let you all know how it is ;)

I love this game. One of my favorite games of all time. My friend and I bought it the 2nd day it came out, and brought it back to my house and played it on his 360. Stayed up all night playing that game. The online play is amazing. The absolute best game I have ever played online on a console system. Its all teamwork, more ducking and moving quickly for cover,and watching your mates back. The story will make you want to play through it over and over again on casual and insane mode. But the online play is what will make you play the game over and over. Its a perfect game.

I have this game and have been it with my brother on co-op mode and it is easily the best third person game I have ever played. The graphics represent truly what a next-gen console should look like and the gameplay does also. This will set the par for all future games.
