Eastpak Antidote tour
7/10/07
doors opened 7 pm
Sonic Syndicate were onstage about 7.15 - 7.30 they played 30 mins of
solid, non-stop metal! they had so much energy, I was on the barrier
(front row) for them, headbanging, and singing all the words haha. They
played one song off the old album (i think) and the rest of the set was
from the new album. I actually felt quite sorry for them because they
gave all they could but didnt get a good reaction from the crowd. I
think if they had been on later that may have been different.
Next up CALIBAN , id never heard any of theyre songs before, but
they were intense!! hardly stopped for breath. The crowd went absolutly
insane. again i was on the barrier for them, they had alot of pits and
i dont like them :p but in saying that i got sandwhiched against the
barrier and the people behind and elbowed about 3 times. 3 days on i
still can barely move :/ but it was all worth it.
My neck has stopped hurting, dont think id ever headbanged as much hahaha
They were just in your face metal, and had alot of breakdowns in the music which sounded kinda progressive/doom. awesome stuff.
But thanks to the ****s pushing and elbowing i couldnt stand any
longer at the front, so i went outside for a ciggy then to the bar!
Dark Tranquility, well what can i say .................BORING!
................. my god every sound sounded the same, i was really
looking forward to them aswell. they were like Paradise Lost but
...boring!
Soilwork, pretty good, i enjoyed theyre set but had to go out
towards the end because i had a really bad headache and my ribs were
really hurting.
i didnt really know much of theyre music , but i quite liked what i heard.
One thing that really pissed me off, none of the other bands used them, ****ing strobe lights!! i hate those things.
band ratings
SS - 9.5/10 (started off abit flat and couldnt hear roland's vocals too well)
Caliban 9/10
DT - 3/10
Soilwork 7/10
after the gig i hung out the front with my mates for abit, when
theyd all gone i said to Karl. "I'm abit gutted really" he was like
"why?" i said "coz i wanted to meet sonic syndicate" he told me he knew
someone from DT so we went over to the tour bus and asked for him, but
he'd just dissappeared.
Then outta no-where came Robin (SS guitarist) i went up to him and
spoke to him for a while, he said the rest of the band were sleeping. I
got a picture with him then went home a very happy bunny. i only bought my ticket to see Sonic Syndicate too :p
